Vicente “Vinnie” Barrera is the Sound Recording Manager for the School of Music at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø A&M University – Kingsville. He also serves as an adjunct instructor for Sound Recording Technology and Guitar. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from The University of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø at San Antonio and a Master of Music in Music Technology from Southern Utah University.
Mr. Barrera’s brings 25 years of experience in live sound reinforcement and 10 years of experience in the recording arts. He has had the privilege of serving the musical artists of South 51³Ô¹ÏÍø such as Tejano Artists: Little Joe Y La Familia, The Hometown Boys, the late Jimmy Gonzales Y Grupo Mazz, along with many more artists in different genres.
Along with being an audio engineer, Mr. Barrera is also a multi-instrumentalist performing with many Mariachi groups in South 51³Ô¹ÏÍø for almost 30 years.
In his role as Sound Recording Manager, Mr. Barrera draws on his many years of experience to provide quality audio services while also training the next generations of audio professionals within the Sound Recording Technology program.
