One of the benefits of the Javelina Engineering Academies is the potential to save money without sacrificing quality.  Students in the Academy are charged by the institution teaching the course. Since all core courses as well as prerequisite Math and Science courses are taken with Victoria College, students take advantage of significant cost savings while co-enrolled.

Academy Features

What We Offer:
  • Hands-On Learning: Workshops, guest lectures, and lab experiences delivered by TAMUK faculty.
  • Internship Support: Guidance for securing regional internships to bridge academic preparation with workforce readiness.
  • Academic Resources: Access tutoring, peer mentorship, and advising through the Javelina Engineering Student Success Center.
  • Campus Engagement: Participate in TAMUK athletic events, Engineers Week, and other university-sponsored programs.

Benefits of the Javelina Engineering Academy

There are many advantages for students enrolled in the Javelina Engineering Academies at Victoria College, including:
  • Services: Students have access to services, activities and organizations at both institutions.
  • Smaller class sizes for math and science courses. Student-faculty ratios are purposely kept low to allow for more individualized educational support and a better chance at success.
  • Potentially lower tuition and fees. Students pay per course and are charged by the institution through which it is offered.
