Quality Enhancement Plan
Supporting career readiness through first-year engagement, second/third-year touchpoints, a senior capstone, and faculty training
Student success is the guiding principle that drives our mission to transform lives and develop well-rounded students through excellence in teaching, learning, and research. Recognizing the growing need to prepare students for an evolving professional landscape, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) has prioritized enhancing career readiness as the focus of its Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). Rooted in institutional data and feedback from students, faculty, and staff, the QEP addresses challenges in career decision-making by creating structured opportunities for career discovery, engagement, reflection, and articulation of competencies.
TAMUK’s Focus on Your Future
Strengthening the career readiness of our students through four key elements:

First-Year Engagement
Expose students to career readiness early in their academic journey through a redesign of the University’s first-year seminar to focus on career and skill exploration.

Sophomore/Junior Touchpoint
Provide a formalized career-related mentorship touchpoint in the sophomore/junior year to support students’ continued success and career preparation.

Senior Capstone
Expand student participation in HIPs through the creation and completion of a senior capstone experience required of all students.

Faculty & Staff Training
Increase faculty and staff development related to career exploration and readiness.
